Sidmouth Primary School is situated on the western side of the city of Kingston upon Hull. Our school building is a Grade 2 listed building built in 1911 as a Demonstration School for the local college.

We have approximately 220 children in our foundation and the main school. Much work has been done to update the building so that it is now a modern primary school. We have our own field, accessed from the playground via a private walkway. Our playground has been developed in conjunction with the children, to stimulate creative play, and includes two impressive climbing frames.

As well as our well resourced classrooms we have an SEN / music room, resourced with instruments and a piano. This room is also used as an audio visual room. We have two libraries in our school – one in each teaching area. We also have a well equipped ICT suite.

We have three halls. The main hall is used for whole school assemblies, lower school assemblies, school meals and converts to a gymnasium for the children in Key Stage 2. The upstairs hall has a library; it also contains an additional mini computer suite and is used for small group activities. The lower school hall is used for lower school assemblies, Foundation stage lunches, school productions, some nursery activities (including PE) and converts to a gymnasium for the pupils in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.

Each class has at least one computer and computers are often grouped so that more computer time can be used. The computers are linked to a network which includes internet access which is filtered to protect pupils from accessing undesirable sites.
