Below is a recent article from the Guardian regarding Free School Meals.

As you will all be aware, Government cuts are hitting every area. Even though we are promised that education will suffer less severe cuts than other areas, there are certain specific factors that have the ability to impact the amount of money our school is given to provide everything for your children’s/child’s education.

One major factor affecting budget amounts is how many of our pupils are registered as being entitled to a free school meal. A school will be granted and extra £430 per child, per year, if they are entitled to free school meals. As you can appreciate amounts of money such as this will allow a substantial enhancement of the school’s budget, thereby enriching what we can provide for your children/child.

If you think you may be entitled to free school meals we urge you to apply. The school staff will be more than willing to help anyone complete the forms and explain any of the criteria which qualify you to receive them. Even if you have applied before and been turned down, it is well worth trying again as there is nothing to lose.

If you would like to apply, but find it difficult to come in to school to pick up the form, we will be happy to send it to your home. All you need to do is ring the school or send a note requesting the form. Also any help needed in completing the form will be more than willingly given.

Like yourselves, we want the absolute best for our children, they deserve nothing less! Let’s work together to provide them it.
